James Shields correctly predicted a Chiefs victory before Monday Night Football

Royals prove good luck charm for Chiefs on MNF

Before the Chiefs' Monday Night Football matchup against the Patriots, the Royals took advantage of the day off and went across the street to watch their pads-and-helmets brethren.

With the Royals filling every English muffin-like nook and cranny of the ESPN stage during the pre-game show, James Shields was asked for his prediction. Even though the Chiefs lost their last two meetings against the Patriots by a combined score of 51-13 and head coach Andy Reid had never beaten Bill Belicheck, Shields didn't hesitate to gaze into his crystal ball and make a decisive pick in favor of the Chiefs.

That looks pretty prescient now: Kansas City rolled to a 41-14 victory behind three Alex Smith passing touchowns and 207 yards rushing.
