Jamey Wright goes the extra mile for Rays fans
As part of Family Fun Days during Sunday home games, two Rays players sign autographs for a half-hour for kids 14 and under. This week, reliever Jamey Wright was one of those players, and he managed to make the fan-friendly activity even fan-friendlier.
Instead of sitting at his assigned table, Wright hopped onto the side rail so he could get closer to the kids for photos and autographs. And when the 30-minute session was over, Wright told staffers to keep the kids coming and even walked several rows into the seating bowl to greet them.
A veteran of 18 big league seasons, Wright surely made some new fans today who hope that he'll be around for 18 more.
