Joey Votto's clean locker sparks wild trade rumors
Joey Votto's cleanliness sparks trade rumor
Along with being a clean-cut dresser, Joey Votto also keeps things very clean in his locker. So clean that Reds reporters thought the first baseman (who has a full no-trade clause) was traded before Sunday's game against the Brewers.
First, the Cincinnati Enquirer's John Fay:
Something is going in. Media meeting with price delayed. Votto's not here. Will update. #reds— John Fay (@johnfayman) July 6, 2014
And then FoxSports Ohio's Kevin Goheen:
Joey Votto's locker empty at GABP, Tucker Barnhart here. No official word yet from #Reds— Kevin Goheen (@FSOhio_KGoheen) July 6, 2014
As word got around, rumors spread:
Rumors are swirling that Joey Votto's locker is empty. Is David Price on his way to Cincinatti?— Front Row Sports (@FrontRowBlogs) July 6, 2014
What's up in Cincy? Per various reports, Votto's locker empty and owner meeting with Price.— Brett R Rump (@IndianaWebSport) July 6, 2014
And an unconfirmed photo of said locker:

Finally, reporters learned Votto was simply getting a day off and is just a really clean guy:
Too clean for his own good.
