John Andreoli and his arm turned Tucker Barnhart's would-be single into a 9-3 putout

The best laid plans, right?
That's probably what was in the mind of Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart after a particularly rare (and probably unwelcome) sequence of events during Sunday's Reds-Cubs split-squad Spring Training game at Cashman Field in Las Vegas.
In the top of the sixth inning, Barnhart laced a liner to right field -- surely a single, no? Well, in this case, it was a definite "no" thanks to right fielder John Andreoli and his cannon of an arm, which retired Barnhart at first:

Just like that, Barnhart lost a hit and gained an out on his Spring Training tally. But, of course, thanks to the very nature of Spring Training, that won't count against him in his overall career slash line.
Still, it can't be much fun to go through that.
