Jose Altuve tied the 97-year-old record for consecutive multi-steal games on Sunday
Pound for pound (or Altuve for Altuve), Jose Altuve might just be the best second baseman in baseball. As of Monday, he leads the American League in hits (116), steals (36) and batting average (.336). He's also second among all players at his position with a 3.2 WAR. Miguel Cabrera likes high WARs:
And after two steals during Sunday's game against the Tigers, Altuve now has multiple swipes in four straight games. That ties Ray Chapman's 97-year-old mark. On Monday, he'll get a chance to break the record against rookie Taijuan Walker and the Mariners. Oh, and just a reminder, he's currently fourth among second basemen on this year's AL All-Star Game ballot.
