Watch Jose Pirela kick a ball to Eric Hosmer to get the out at first
Want to see something cool? Of course you do.
During the Padres-Giants game on Sunday in the bottom of the third, infielder Jose Pirela made a play to get Miguel Gomez out. But this wasn't just any play. Oh no -- this play was quite unique and involved Pirela's foot:
The accidental kick to Eric Hosmer resulted in a forceout -- whatever works.
Pretty cool, right?
And despite getting out, Gomez couldn't do anything but smile as he ran back to the dugout:
Doesn't this remind you of the time Paul O'Neill kicked the ball to his first baseman?
History tends to repeat itself, and in this case, it's a great thing.
