Josh Reddick reclaims Bacon Tuesday in Oakland, Torii Hunter promises Chicken Wednesday
Whaddya know? The right-field die-hards in Oakland are at it again.
Not wanting Jeff Francoeur to get the last laugh after the Royals outfielder inspired the second annual Bacon Tuesday earlier this season, A's outfielder Josh Reddick sent four trays of bacon to Section 149 before Tuesday's game against the Angels.
"Reddick reclaimed bacon for Oakland tonight," said one member of Reddick's Roughnecks. "It's a very special secondary Bacon Tuesday.
All the bacon was gone by the bottom of the first inning, but there may be even more food on the way. Angels outfielder Torii Hunter has claimed he will fulfill a two-year-old promise on Wednesday and have Popeye's chicken delivered to the stands. Hunter told the right-field fans that he'd bring them chicken if they stopped heckling him back in 2010, but has yet to come through to date. Some Oakland supporters even traveled to Anaheim during an A's road trip to pester Hunter about the chicken, but to no avail.
If Hunter makes good on Wednesday, it'll be at least the third player-delivered meal for Section 149 this season, following Bacon Tuesday and Frenchy's pizza delivery.
