Kansas City Symphony conductor owns up to World Series bet, wears Giants jersey
Back in October, Kansas City Symphony and music director Michael Stern and his fellow Royals fans were feeling confident in their team's chances heading into Game 7 of the World Series. So much so that he issued a challenge to the folks in the San Francisco Symphony:
Well, we all know that Madison Bumgarner came in out of the 'pen and slammed the door shut on the Royals' chances, leading the Giants to their third World Series championship in five seasons in the process.
A man is only as good as his word, so there was nothing left for Stern to do besides honor his end of the bet during the Kansas City Symphony's performance of John Phillip Sousa's "The National Game."
