Ketel Marte became only the eighth player in MLB history to hit two triples in one postseason game

Baseball always finds ways to show you things you haven't seen before -- and the postseason is no different. In Tuesday's AL Wild Card Game, the Twins' Brian Dozierset a record with a leadoff homer in the first inning.
The D-backs' 11-8 win over the Rockies in the NL Wild Card Game on Wednesday night featured an onslaught of early offense, as well. Arizona's Ketel Marte did his part, setting the table with a second-inning triple that showcased his blazing speed on the basepaths:

He then tripled again in the fourth, outdoing himself in the speed department:

For some perspective, Marte only has seven triples in his big league career -- so he matched his entire 2017 output in the first four innings of the Wild Card Game alone.
But there's more: Hitting two triples in a single postseason game? That's only happened seven times in MLB history, with the most recent coming in 1993 when the Phillies' Mariano Duncan accomplished the feat.
Only one of those, Mark Lemke in the 1993 NLCS, was a switch-hitter like Marte. But both of Lemke's triples came as a left-handed hitter.
Having hit his first Wild Card Game triple against right-hander Jon Gray and his second against left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson, Marte is now the first player to triple from both sides of the plate in a single postseason game.
That's the power of speed.
