Kurt Busch pays a visit to his high school buddy Ryan Ludwick

The Durango High School class of 1996 has turned out to be pretty successful.

Kurt Busch, one of NASCAR’s most popular drivers and a classmate of Reds star Ryan Ludwick, visited Great American Ball Park on Wednesday to take batting practice and shag fly balls.

Busch and Ludwick have been friends since they were children and played on the same Little League teams. Busch was a decent player, but he hung up his cleats in high school to pursue his racing dream.

With his family from Chicago, Busch had grown into a Cubs fan. Now, with Ludwick swinging a hot bat (18 home runs) and the Reds playing well, he said he's a "fan of the whole NL Central."
