Kurt Suzuki safe at home thanks to incredible Matrix slide

Minnesota Twins All-Star catcher Kurt Suzuki flaunted the kind of skill that falls through the cracks of the stat sheet on Saturday when he pulled off a slide that could only be considered common in The Matrix or Neverland. 

The Twins trailed the Royals by a run in the seventh when Danny Santana shattered his bat and sent a ground ball to first base. Billy Butler fielded it, stepped on first for the second out of and threw home to try to catch Suzuki to end the inning. The throw beat Suzuki by a step or two, but he was smart enough to slide into foul territory and lift his hand so that Salvador Perez came up with a handful of air.
