Let's watch 450 pounds of baseball player collide at high speed
Brayan Pena may have been hearing P.O.D in his head as Justin Smoak rounded third base during the 14th inning of Wednesday's game at Safeco Field.
Or maybe not, because that song is an insult to anyone with a functioning auditory system and Pena was intently focused on catching Prince Fielder's relay throw (a well executed Cut-4 play, we might add) before absorbing a potential knockout blow from the 220-pound Mariners first baseman.
Taste late-90's nu metal aside, Pena -- a stout 5-foot-9, 230 himself -- took a forearm to the face but hung on to secure the Tigers win.
