Mother Nature tried to warn us that Tuesday's Yankees game was going to be wild

Tuesday night's game between the Yankees and Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium was, in a word, wild.

The Blue Jays won, 12-6, after trailing, 5-0, heading into a 40-minute rain delay after the top of the fourth inning. Yankees rookie catcher Gary Sanchez hit two home runs, in the second and fourth innings:


And Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin also hit a pair, in the sixth and eighth innings:


On the strength of Martin's dingers (a solo shot and the two-run homer above), Toronto scored four runs in the sixth and eight runs in the eighth to pull out the comeback victory. Like we said, it was wild.

Back in the third inning, however, no one would've suspected the offensive rollercoaster to follow. But Mother Nature tried to warn us:


Lightning strikes like that only mean one thing: The game will definitely not be boring.
