Listen to Bill Murray fire up Wrigley with 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game' ... as Daffy Duck

From actors to musicians to fictional presidents to actual presidential candidates, the Cubs are not lacking for famous fans. Standing just a little bit above the rest, though, is one man/myth/legend: Bill Murray. When he's not hanging out in stylish Cubs apparel, he's dispensing joy from the stands at Wrigley Field or losing his mind at the many talents of Javy Baez.
So, as the Cubs prepared to host their first World Series game in 71 years, Murray was the only real choice to fire up the crowd during the seventh-inning stretch. And, because he is Bill Murray, he didn't disappoint. Not only did he deliver a stirring, remarkably on-key rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," he did it all in a pitch-perfect Daffy Duck impression -- as you can listen to in the clip above. (He even capped it with a "Now let's get some runs," in honor of Harry Caray.)

Why did Murray decide to debut his Daffy Duck impression on national television? Ah, you've forgotten the number one rule of Bill Murray: When in doubt, the answer is always "because Bill Murray." But, despite his best efforts and all that Looney Tunes magic, Murray's Cubs still fell in Game 3, 1-0. They'll try to bounce back in Game 4 on Saturday night (7:30 p.m. ET air time | 8 ET game time on FOX).
