Long Haul Bombers put on a show at GABP

Great American Ball Park is known as a bit of a launching pad. On Friday, the Long Haul Bombers took it to another level.

The traveling softball players of the World Softball League visited Cincinnati to show off their amazing home run ability during pregame and postgame festivities. Five Bombers launched home runs before the game, with a few reaching the seats on 10 of their 15 allotted pitches.

Distances reached in excess of 400 feet, and some of the sluggers said they can hit balls over 500 feet -- even close to 600 -- if they get ahold of a pitch.

The Bombers have visited several other Major League ballparks in the last few season, including AT&T Park, Safeco Field, Petco Park and Citi Field. The left-handed-hitting members said they easily nailed balls into McCovey Cove in San Fransisco, and one mentioned hitting a scoreboard at Safeco Field, with what would have been the longest shot ever hit at the ballpark.
