Mariners hold eighth annual Stitch n' Pitch night
On Thursday, the club and Pacific Fabrics & Crafts hosted the eighth annual event.
The third-base line level and Lookout Landing were converted into a bazaar made up of area shops and organizations such as Serial Knitters, Bad Women Yarn and Knit Wits, where fans could shop and learn tips from experts. Debbie Macomber, the bestselling author known for her Blossom Street series about women who knit, threw out the first pitch and autographed books throughout the night.
The glove statue in front of Safeco Field’s left-field entrance was covered in yarn by volunteers for World Vision and will be taken apart after the homestand to be made into blankets. World Vision will distribute the blankets to kids in 11 countries around the world.
