Mariners hold eighth annual Stitch n' Pitch night
Eight years ago, a few Mariners employees were knitting while watching a game at Safeco Field. The marketing department took notice and Stitch n’ Pitch Night was born.
On Thursday, the club and Pacific Fabrics & Crafts hosted the eighth annual event.
The third-base line level and Lookout Landing were converted into a bazaar made up of area shops and organizations such as Serial Knitters, Bad Women Yarn and Knit Wits, where fans could shop and learn tips from experts.
The glove statue in front of Safeco Field’s left-field entrance was covered in yarn by volunteers for World Vision and will be taken apart after the homestand to be made into blankets. World Vision will distribute the blankets to kids in 11 countries around the world.
