Mark Teixeira, Spike Lee collaborate on new production

When the humidity rises, even the stickiest pine tar sometimes isn't enough to prevent the bat from flying out of a hitter's hands.

In the first inning of Sunday's game at Yankee Stadium, Mark Teixeira sent his bat twirling into the stands before it came to rest in the front rows.

Consummate New York sports fan Spike Lee just so happened to be sitting in the right spot and was able to retrieve Tex's bat without bodily harm.

Spike kept the bat, which begs the question: Did he do the right thing?
