Mets fans wished Daniel Murphy a happy birthday Monday, and it was just as cute as you're picturing it [UPDATE]
I don't remember what I did for my last birthday. I'm reasonably sure it involved cupcakes, sports and eating my feelings, but I'm certain that it wasn't this successfully organized or well attended. Mets fans know how to make their own feel loved, and second baseman Daniel Murphy was no exception on Opening Day.
Murphy turned 28 years old Monday and was cheered on by a chorus of fans wearing matching orange T-shirts and holding celebratory signs. He went 2-5 with an RBI, and the Mets defeated the Padres, 11-2. That's not a bad birthday present, now is it?
Murphy thanks the fans who helped celebrate his birthday. D'aww.
