Miguel Cabrera hit his first triple in 15 months

Miguel Cabrera hit his first triple in 15 months

Since joining the Tigers in 2008, Miguel Cabrera has 1,256 hits. He's slugged an impressive .584 over those seven seasons with 241 home runs and 261 doubles. Speed being somewhat of a challenge for Cabrera, he's only amassed five triples over that span. After hitting two three-baggers in 2008, Cabrera went triple-less in three of the next four years.

Entering the second inning of the Dodgers-Tigers game on Tuesday, Cabrera hadn't tripled in 15 months (on April 11, 2013, he went 4-for-5 with a triple and 4 RBIs). Then, this happened:

Miggy's hit tied the game up at five before the Tigers added nine more runs to run away with a 14-5 win. Hope you enjoyed the show, folks, because you might not see that kind of motor out of Cabrera until next year's pennant race.
