MLBAM's Statcast technology was put to use at Tuesday's All-Star Game, clocking players as they circled the bases, and the results were impressive.
After Derek Jeter led off the bottom of the first with a double to right field, Angels superstar Mike Trout plated him and legged out a triple in the process. Statcast clocked him at 20 mph as he neared second base.
To put that in perspective, the treadmill at your gym only reaches 12-14 mph. So, yeah, he's moving.
Dodgers second baseman Dee Gordon also broke the 20 mph barrier when he came around to score on a Jonathan Lucroy double.
