A Minor Leaguer's sprint carried him toward the wall, so he hurdled it
Everybody, meet Tim Arakawa. The 24-year-old outfielder plays for the Mobile BayBears, the Angels' Double-A affiliate. If you were already familiar with him, kudos to you, but if you weren't -- you will be after what he did in the BayBears' 6-3 loss to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp on Friday night.
The game took place at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, a facility that features sloping hills that form a berm down the left-field line. This structure provided Arakawa an opportunity to show off his hurdling skills after racing hard toward the line in pursuit of a fly ball. He caught it, but in a full sprint his momentum carried him right toward the wall. No matter, he just cleared it with ease:
