Let MLB players show you how to get through a successful Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving day can be stressful. You likely have to cook a dish (or more!) and make sure it's ready and hot at dinner time. All the while, there's the creeping worry that an embarrassing family argument will break out just like that one time four years ago.
Luckily, MLB players regularly engage in plenty of Thanksgiving activities and can serve as a guide to a stress-free holiday with your loved ones. Just follow their example and you're sure to have a successful day.
Go downtown for the big parade
Every successful MLB season ends in a parade, and any successful Thanksgiving morning starts with a parade. Whether you can easily get downtown for the live action or watch from the comfort of your home, there's no other way to get the day started.

Playing sports with family and friends
After the parade, it's time to get serious with some family sports. At the start, it's all fun and games because you have to keep up appearances in front of the kids:

But, once they get tired and go inside, it's time to get serious with some football.

We all know it's not a serious game without tackling.

Enjoy a warm beverage
After an active morning in the crisp autumn air, there's nothing more perfect than returning indoors and recounting the highlights of the game over a nice warm cup of hot chocolate.

Eating
Obviously, the main event of any Thanksgiving is the feast. Nothing gets the appetite going like a busy morning with family. The only proper way to start the meal is with the host offering a toast ...

... While all in attendance just want to get on with the eating already.

So, once the toast has been made, it's time for everyone to dig in. And not everybody is concerned with proper table manners:

There's always that one relative who is trying to eat healthy:

But that's not going to stop everyone else from stuffing their faces:

After all that eating, you may realize you need to loosen your belt just a little bit:

Oh no! Someone engaged with that uncle -- you know, the one with the conspiracy theories -- and the discourse has gotten hot. Time to calm things down before the entire table gets dragged in.

Even though you've eaten beyond your fair share of turkey and cranberry sauce, there's always a bit more room for dessert. And what could be better than a Thanksgiving pie?

Finally, it's nap time.

The next day
The best part of Thanksgiving, some would argue, is eating leftovers. But on Friday, there can be a lot to sort through in the fridge:

But, once you get a good accounting of what remains, the ingredients to a perfect leftover sandwich await.

And that is a perfect Thanksgiving.
