Nationals reliever Tyler Clippard reveals that he will start Game 5 of the NLDS

Tyler Clippard reveals that he will start Game 5

While there have been plenty of discussions between baseball pundits over whether Stephen Strasburg or Jordan Zimmermann should get the start if the Nationals can force a Game 5 against that Giants, that question was answered on Tuesday.

At the start of Tyler Clippard's press conference, the usually-goggled reliever said that "after long talks with [manager Matt Williams], he's chosen me to be the Game 5 starter." Clippard then went to leave the room before asking the assembled reporters, "What's so funny?"

Lou Piniella once tried beginning the game with relievers while managing the Rays in 2005, but given that Clippard hasn't started a big league game since 2008, we're guessing it's not going to happen. Even if the move could really confuse the Giants.
