No one was happier that Matt Kemp hit the game-winning home run than J.P. Howell

No one was happier that Kemp hit HR than Howell

J.P. Howell wasn't in a good mood after making a relief appearance on Saturday night. With the Dodgers clinging to a 2-0 lead over the Cardinals, looking to tie the NLDS at one before traveling to St. Louis for Game 3, Howell was brought in for Zack Greinke in the top of the 8th. But an Oscar Taveras single followed by a home run from Jon Hamm-lookalike Matt Carpenter changed all of that.

With the fear of a either a 2-0 series deficit or an 18-inning marathon fresh in everyone's minds, Matt Kemp stepped to the plate in the bottom of the 8th. The Dodgers outfielder got a big piece of this offering from Pat Neshek and to the delight of the Dodgers and the 54,999 fans in attendance, it stayed fair to give the Dodgers a 3-2 lead.
