This horse named after Noah Syndergaard just won its first race

If you're going to name your horse after the Norse God of 93-mph sliders, he'd better be able to race pretty fast. Fortunately, this Syndergaard lives up to his namesake.
The horse gifted with the Mets hurler's namesake made his racing debut during a Maiden Special Weight event (for horses that have never won a race) at Saratoga on Monday. Going up against the likes of Mr. Buff, New York's Finest and Italian Syndicate (those last two making it sound like a 1970's cop movie), Syndergaard easily smoked the competition.
It also let the announcer, Larry Collmus, have a little fun, calling the end of the race by saying, "Syndergaard met his competition and he struck them out."

Given that Syndergaard -- the human -- rode a horse into Spring Training this year, we can only hope that he'll get some time to hang out with this Syndergaard -- the horse -- sometime soon.
