Nothing says baseball like ... wine and painting?

The Astros held the third annual Paint in the Park event Saturday at Minute Maid Park.

“Today, we are painting Vintage Astros,” Pinot’s Palette employee Carmen Talbert said. “It is one of the older logos and every year, we do a different painting pertaining to that year.”

More than 50 fans came to the ballpark early to drink a little wine and learn to paint under the supervision of several local artists from Pinot’s Palette.

“Our company is a BYOB art studio,” Talbert said. “You bring food and wine, and we supply everything else from your canvasses, to your brushes, to your paints, to your plates. We have an artist that stands up front, and they lead you step-by-step through a painting. We also have additional artists that walk around and give more one-on-one attention.”

Several attendees returned for a second or third time. One painter named Robin said she and her granddaughter were inspired to paint several of their Christmas gifts last year after attending Paint in the Park.
