Paul Pierce just had a baby boy, wants him to play baseball

After having two girls, Paul Pierce and his wife brought a baby boy into the world on Tuesday night. And instead of hitting the hardwood, Pierce apparently wants his son to play baseball:

"I actually want to put a baseball in his hand -- his left hand,'' Pierce joked to reporters before practice on Thursday.

Yeah, yeah OK. So, he might be joking. But let's look at the facts:

  1. His son's name is Prince. Prince is a good baseball name.
  2. Paul is passing down some 6-foot-7, very athletic genes. Height bodes well in baseball.
  3. Papa Pierce said "left hand." Lefties, whether hitting or pitching, usually hold an advantage on the diamond.
