Perkins Elementary goes back to school with some help from the Padres
No kid likes going back to school, but it usually helps if a bunch of Major League ballplayers are there for moral support.
The Padres hosted a back-to-school shopping spree for San Diego's Perkins Elementary School on Tuesday. Catcher Nick Hundley, pitcher Luke Gregerson and third baseman Chase Headley were just a few of the Padres players that helped kids purchase shoes, pants and other supplies for the new year.
"This is really a great opportunity to just be out here and supporting the community," Headley said. "We're helping some kids get some stuff that they need. We're happy to be here."
