A.J. Pierzynski celebrated catching the last out of Friday's Braves game like it was the World Series

2016 hasn't been the kindest so far to A.J. Pierzynski. Despite passing the 2,000 hit mark this season, he's struggling to keep his batting average over the Mendoza line and the Braves are in the midst of a rebuild that has them at the basement of the NL East. He's even been felled by cruel Mother Nature who made sure he lost his footing on some slick grass on the night he picked up his 2,000th hit.

But this is baseball and anything on any day can turn your season around. So when Pierzynski caught Andres Blanco's foul popup to give the Braves a 7-1 victory over the Phillies on Friday, it called for a celebration. You know, just like when you eat a piece of/half of/an entire cake after going to the gym.

Hey, you gotta celebrate the small things in life.
