Poll: Vote for the best single-game batting performance by a pitcher in 2015
Poll: Which pitcher had the best day at the plate?
There is something especially satisfying about pitchers mashing at the plate. After spending so much of their time on the receiving end, it's nice to see them get a little revenge and send a ball out of the stadium, or drive in a couple of runs to help their cause. And in 2015, we saw a lot of thrilling pitcher-on-pitcher action.
All told, pitchers hit 25 home runs and drove in more than 200 runs in 2015, with Madison Bumgarner taking home the Silver Slugger Award for best season at the plate by a pitcher. But we want to know: Which hurler had the best single-day performance?
For example, there was the game when Bumgarner knocked the 10th dinger of his career, or the game when Francisco Liriano drove in three runs with his first. Zack Greinke took the Dodgers' bat-flipping crown this season, and Daniel Norris became the first American League pitcher to go yard at Wrigley Field. Tim Hudson homered at 40 years old, while Steven Matz went 3-for-3 in his MLB debut.
As you can see, there are a lot of games to choose from. To narrow it down, we selected 10 of the best single-game performances, and it's up to you to vote for the winner.
