Pudge Rodriguez apologized to Ken Griffey Jr. for his son's All-Star Game accident years ago

Dereck Rodriguez is a 25-year-old pitcher in the Twins organization -- but back in the mid-1990s, he was the young son of one Ivan Rodriguez, who was elected to the Hall of Fame on Sunday.
During Pudge's speech in Cooperstown, he had to go out of his way to make amends for something young Dereck did as a 2-year-old at one of his father's 14 All-Star Games. When Griffey picked up young Dereck, you see, he ... had an accident in his toddler-sized baseball uniform. Sitting in the crowd on Sunday, Dereck couldn't help but be amused by his dad's story:

"Junior, Sorry ... he was so excited just to be held by such a great player," explained Pudge in the clip atop this post.
And really, could you blame him?
