A Rangers fan protected himself from an impending foul ball by wielding his umbrella

Ah, Texas: A land in which everything is bigger (including the hot dogs), aliens roam the outfield and the weather is very, very warm. Like "95 degrees on an average August day" kind of warm. So when one intrepid Rangers fan decided to attend Thursday's matinee against the Rockies, he made sure to bring an umbrella -- the perfect tool to shield himself from the sun, cool himself down and deflect any pesky foul balls that might be coming his way:

We admire the resourcefulness and technique, but still -- there are some fans who would dump nachos on themselves for a chance at that souvenir.
