A Rangers fan spilled his drink going for an unsuccessful catch on a foul ball
It was an excellent day for the Rangers at Globe Life Park on Tuesday, as they put double-digit runs on the board against the Marlins en route to a 10-4 victory. One of their fans, however, had to endure a bit of a hiccup.
In the top of the second, Adrian Beltre fouled off a pitch from Dan Straily down the right-field line. The fan sitting closest to where it was sure to land had a dilemma since he was holding a drink. It didn't go well:
The fan might have blocked his family from getting hit by the ball, but he couldn't come up with the prize and lost his beer anyway. At least there wasn't anyone sitting in the row in front of him.
Thankfully for the family, it all worked out in the end. The FOX Sports TV crew located them and surprised the boy, Luke Tittle, with Fan of the Game honors that included souvenirs and a game ball -- not a bad trade-off.
