Rare 'Oso Blanco' bear spotted in natural habitat after Gattis homer
Catcher Evan Gattis smacked a homer to deep left to give the Braves a 4-3 lead in the fourth inning against the Rockies on Tuesday. No one in Coors Field -- no human, anyway -- was more excited than this trio of fans in bear costumes. El oso blanco, Spanish for "the white bear," was Gattis' nickname when he played baseball in Venezuela.
A USA TODAY profile on Gattis identifies the four fans in costume as the catcher's childhood best friends. The word for this is the same in Spanish and English: adorable.
