Rockies win on Brandon Barnes' second inside-the-park homer in 10 days
Brandon Barnes is having himself a swell little June. The 28-year-old Rockies outfielder is batting .308 this season and has notched seven hits in 19 at-bats since June 5th, including a walk-off triple against the Dodgers last weekend. During that span, Barnes also managed to hit two inside-the-park home runs.
Back on the 5th, Barnes hit a ball to deep center at Coors Field. It careened off the bottom of the wall and past Diamondbacks center fielder Ender Inciarte, allowing Barnes to round the bases.
On Saturday, Barnes came up to bat in the ninth with a man on first and his Rockies down a run. He hit a ball into the right-center field gap that scooted past Angel Pagan and all the way to the fence.
When Barnes slid into home he had his second round-tripper of the month and the Rockies had themselves the lead.
