Ryan Goins and Troy Tulowitzki combine for beautiful backhanded, barehanded double play
Yes, the Blue Jays lost to the Royals, 5-0, in Game 1 of the ALCS on Friday night. Edinson Volquez turned in a fantastic performance and Alcides Escobar tallied two doubles, two runs and an RBI in the win. But in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Blue Jays created a bit of baseball poetry in the form of a double play.
Something that may look so difficult for you or me is, once again, made to look like nothing at all by these nimble, baseball souls. Just another inning, another game, another day -- an everyday ballet.
Back hand. Bare hand. Two moves. Two outs. Cooperation at its finest, my friends.
Toronto will try to even up the series in Game 2 of the ALCS at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday on FS1/SNET.
