Ryan Howard thought he was out, and then he wasn't, and then, nope, he was still out

Ryan Howard had an adventure from home to first

Usually, 4-3 putouts are usually pretty simple -- an easy toss from the second baseman to the first baseman. But during the wild homerific Mets-Phillies game on Monday night, there occurred one of the weirdest 4-3 putouts you'll ever see.

Ryan Howard thought he had lined out to a diving Wilmer Flores at second base, so he headed back toward the dugout. But then, realizing that Flores had dropped the ball, Howard took off (seemingly from the dugout) to first base to try to beat the throw. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful. He was out for real this time:

And the route efficiency ended up being just a bit sub-par:
