Ryon Healy wanted to field a ground ball, but he had to dodge a flying bat first
Just two days ago, Todd Frazier struck a blow for ballplayers everywhere in their war against inanimate objects, cleanly barehanding a grounder while sidestepping a broken bat rolling toward him. But the bats would not go quietly in the face of defeat. And during Monday's Orioles-A's game, they found their next target: Oakland third baseman Ryon Healy.
The bats wouldn't make the same tactical mistake again, though -- rather than attack on the ground, they came through the air. But Healy remained calm, filed a tap-dancing audition for "America's Got Talent" and made the play:
