You might not think Logan Morrison would charge the mound to wrestle Sam Fuld during Fuld's second annual SLAMDiabetes Wiffle ball charity game on Saturday. But then again, "SLAM" is right there in the name, and he did get hit by a pitch. So.
The SLAMDiabetes Sam Fuld Tampa Classic, as it is officially titled, is Fuld's Wiffle ball tournament to raise money for awareness for Type 1 Diabetes -- which Fuld was diagnosed with as a child. This year's tournament featured 16 teams, each sporting its own Major Leaguer.
Apparently, The Fighting Fulds are called that for a reason. With Fuld on the "mound" and Morrison batting, the new Ray was plunked on his knee. Charity tournament or not, you can't let that kind of flagrant provocation go unchecked.
At least when Fuld pitched in the Majors, it did not end with a wrestling match on the field.
