Sarah Hudek celebrates her first big college win by calling into 'Hot Stove'
When most freshmen celebrate their first career collegiate victories, they get a call from their parents or a pat on their back from some teammates. Sarah Hudek got an invite to have Harold Reynolds break down her "nasty changeup."
Hudek is the daughter of former MLB relief pitcher John Hudek, and she's pitching on a scholarship at Bossier Parish Community College in Louisiana. Last week, she earned her first victory when the Cavaliers beat nearby Hinds Community College. Reynolds and his "Hot Stove" co-host Matt Vasgersian spoke with Hudek when she called in to the program on Wednesday morning to discuss her repertoire of pitches and what it's like being the only girl in a male-dominated sport:
Hudek, Reynolds and Vasgersian also talked about the advantages of being a lefty, her experiences with her teammates and what she hopes her baseball future has in store for her.
