Starlin Castro's walkup music is so catchy, everyone in Wrigley Field claps along

Now that the Cubs have a flashy new scoreboard and tricked-out sound system, they are able to offer something to their players they couldn't before: Walkup music.

Little did they know that from this new opportunity, a new tradition would be born.

Starlin Castro's walkup song, "Ando En La Versace" by Omega, is, without question, catchy -- so catchy that it prompts the more than 40,000 people packing Wrigley Field these days to clap along in unison. What makes this unique is that the clapping isn't limited to just the fans: The team gets into it, too.

The relievers, the bullpen catcher, everyone in uniform in the dugout -- the whole team claps along. 

"Everybody," Castro said. "It's awesome."

And to think: Earlier this season, Castro asked the Cubs' music coordinator to change his song.

"I told him, 'I don't want that song anymore,'" Castro said. "'I'll give you another song.'"

The response? No way.

"He told me, 'That's the song the fans love,'" Castro recalled.

Castro now says he didn't necessarily want to put "Ando" completely out of commission -- he just wanted to change it out every once in a while, to mix things up. Now he's glad he let it be. The song is so infectious, you can't help but tap your feet.

Even the folks who aren't supposed to be participating wouldn't mind clapping along. According to Castro, Pirates catcher Francisco Cervelli told him he's struggling to resist the urge.

"He said, 'Every time you come in to hit, I almost take my hand out of my glove to clap,'" Castro said.
