Starting Nine: Baseball honors Boston

Many things are happening -- on Cut4, in baseball and out there in the rest of the world. Here are nine you need to know about today:

1. 'Sweet' dedications
Major League Baseball honored the victims of the Boston Marathon tragedy on Tuesday with "Sweet Caroline" sing-a-longs, fan remembrances and words of encouragement

2. And the Sox win
Three RBIs from Mike Napoli and five strong innings from Felix Doubront helped the Red Sox beat the Indians 7-3 on Tuesday. With Boston in their hearts, John Gibbons' squad improved to 9-4 on the year and look forward to returning to Fenway on Friday.

3. Winter Wonderland
Coors Field has received just a little bit of snow over the past couple days. Grounds crew members, owners and dinosaurs shoveled hard so that the (1993) Mets and Rockies could play their Tuesday doubleheader for the fans ... and their snowman friends.

4. A.T.L.
Ten straight! The Braves broke open a tie game with three homers in the eighth off Royals reliever Kelvin Herrera. Atlanta is now 12-1 and may never lose again.

5. 42 for the last few
Teams that didn't play on Jackie Robinson Day donned No. 42 jerseys on Tuesday. Mariano Rivera didn't even have to change to pay tribute and Robinson Cano certainly did his namesake proud in the Bronx. WBNA top pick Brittney Griner also stopped by -- of course she wore No. 42, too.

6. Best fan costume this year?
I mean, besides not being able to see and spending $100 on glue, totally worth it.

7. Is it too late to apologize?
Whatcha think, Timbo? Let's be honest, it's never too late to apologize to an umpire after yelling at him, at least according to Astros pitcher Paul Clemens.

8. We're gonna need a bigger ball
Marlins outfielder Justin Ruggiano saw this Pirates fan's enormous glove and raised him a giant bat on Tuesday.

9. has been accused of blatantly ripping off another song on his new single. You can decide for yourself: listen to Arty & Mat Zo's "Rebound" and's "Let's Go" (warning: contains Chris Brown).
