Starting Nine: Clay can play

Many things are happening -- on Cut4, in baseball and out there in the rest of the world. Here are nine you need to know about today:

1. Buchholz is on fire
Boston downed the Astros 7-2 on Thursday night at Fenway Park, as Clay Buchholz became the Majors' first five-game winner.

2. Here's to Drew
Watch the Fairfax High School baseball team honor Drew Bonner, their devoted manager and classmate, who suffers from muscular dystrophy. You will feel feelings.

3. Hair we go again
Tied for the greatest thing we've ever seen: Troy Tulowitzki's grade-school mullet (look at that stud-in-training) and the long-awaited return of Coco Crisp's fro (eat your heart out, Oscar Gamble).

4. A Star-Spangled mash-up
The Dodgers invited a music ensemble from Taipei to play "The Star-Spangled Banner" on traditional Chinese instruments Taiwan Night a couple weeks ago. It was awesome.

5. What's Joey's VOTTO?
Cut4's resident statistician Dakota Gardner will teach you to calculate the VOTTO: Value Over Traditional Torontonian Occupation. (Spoiler: a certain Reds first baseman earns a high score.)

6. Angels and unicorns and Rangers, oh my
A living, breathing unicorn (well, sort of) showed up in the stands at Angel Stadium on Wednesday. Somebody call science!

7. Yu, quintupled
This amazing GIF of Yu Darvish throwing five unhittable pitches at once will blow your mind. Five times.

8. Crane's eye view
This dedicated baseball fan managed to sneak in a view of a Tigers-Twins game while at work ... from an unusual vantage point.

9. Blue Envy
Beyonce, Jay-Z and Blue Ivy Carter are currently gallivanting in Paris. Yup -- Blue Ivy is only 15 months old, yet her life is already 15,000 times cooler than yours.
