Stop everything and watch Ezequiel Carrera make one of the best catches you'll see all year
Catch of the Year Candidate: Ezequiel Carrera
You might not be too familiar with Tigers outfielder Ezequiel Carrera. Since seeing action in 68 games for the Indians in 2011, Carrera has played in a combined 65 games for the Phillies, Indians and Tigers over the last three seasons. Carrera certainly earned his keep when he got the start in center field for the Tigers on Monday, though, flashing the leather to save some runs in the Bronx.
Max Scherzer and the Tigers were in a third-inning jam as the Yankees had the bases loaded with nobody out and Jacoby Ellsbury at the dish. Ellsbury sent a shot deep to left-center that looked like a potential bases-clearing scenario. Luckily for the Tigers, Carrera brought his ups with him and shows of some hang time that would even leave Matthew McConaughey speechless.
Ladies and gentlemen, what you just witnessed was a bonafide candidate for Catch of the Year, but Jack White wasn't impressed.
