The Astros turned the tables on the media
The Houston Astros hosted the 2012 Media Softball Game Friday morning at Minute Maid Park. The longstanding tradition pitted members of the media against one another for bragging rights, while members of the Astros Media Relations staff served as umpires.
After the media members were divided into two teams, Senior Director of Media Relations Gene Dias flipped a coin to determine the home and away teams.
The home team took a 3-2 lead heading into the 9th, but the visitors scored seven runs in that frame to take home the victory.
The home team's catcher/pitcher/former Chronicle beat writer Zachary Levine took a comebacker off the wrist during the game. He's currently listed as day to day.
