The champ is here: Coughlin tosses first pitch in the Bronx
New York Football Giants head coach Tom Coughlin threw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the Yankees' matinee with the White Sox on Saturday, tossing a heater to Russell Martin from the rubber.
“It was probably high and inside," Coughlin said. "But it was close enough. I might have gotten the call.”
Coughlin previously handled the pregame honors at the old Yankee Stadium in 2008, several months after the Giants won Super Bowl XLII. His starting quarterback, Eli Manning, tossed out the first pitch with his daughter at Citi Field earlier this month.
