The key to a great baseball photo? Don't always shoot the batter
"The more you know about the game, the better pictures you're going to make," says Associated Press photographer Lenny Ignelzi.
After shooting Padres games for 34 years, Ignelzi knows plenty -- including that you don't always need to focus on the batter. After documenting Tony Gwynn's entire career and San Diego's 1998 World Series run, he only has one goal left:
"People sometimes ask when I'm going to retire, and I tell them 'when a team I cover wins a world championship.'"
