On Thursday, Ichiro Suzuki announced he was transitioning to a front office role with the Mariners. And while he insisted he was not retiring until he started "using a cane," what he accomplished over his 18-year MLB career is in the category of legendary. In addition to two batting titles, 10 All-Star selections and being named the AL MVP and Rookie of the Year in his first MLB season -- he also notched 3,089 hits.
The 3,000-hit club is an exclusive place not many can say they're a part of. MLB.com's Daren Willman created a time lapse of each one of Ichiro's hits during his MLB career -- and it's mesmerizing:

That's a lot of hits.
Not only is it a beautiful creation, but you can see how fast he was at getting out of the box -- and there wasn't much of the field he didn't cover with his bat.
Very impressive.
