This Twins fan couple camped out overnight for Mauer/Morneau bobbleheads
Mark and Judy Herrala were prepared to do almost anything necessary to acquire Joe Mauer/Justin Morneau bobbleheads, the prize given to the first 10,000 fans through the gates at Target Field for Friday's game. The couple arrived at 11:30 Thursday morning to ensure they'd each have a figuring in their hands during Friday's 7:10 p.m. game against the Indians.
When Target Field opened its gates nearly 30 hours later: Mission accomplished. But not before they battled Thursday's heat advisory, endured a night slumped in lawn chairs and consumed numerous takeout meals.
The couple came early to ensure a spot under the Gate 29 roof in case of rain. Judy said she felt "stupid" when they first arrived, but once she interacted with the Target Field security, she felt more "normal."
What may seem abnormal to some is normal for the Herralas: They also waited overnight for Josh Willingham bobbleheads when they were given out May 10.
